  • Title: Best toy for babies!

We got this toy for my DD when she was 2 months old. This is the very best toy for a baby! My DD was having a hard time grasping rattles, teethers, etc. because of their size and weight. The Oball is lightweight and has many areas which are small and perfect for grasping. The fact that it is a rattle is a bonus! My daughter is now 6 months old and it is still one of her favorite toys. She likes to shake it and toss it. I also love that it is made out of silicone and it is dishwasher safe.

  • Title: Great for my 6m old daughter

We got this rattle toy for my 6m old daughter and she loves it. We read reviews on Amazon about it but I was a bit skeptical after all it is so simple and not particularly cheap. We bought toys before age appropriate that had very high reviews and she did not care for them. I did not want to get another useless toy. We were at a toy store and I showed her the ball and her eyes lit up and arms stretched out towards it. It was very clear that she very much wanted it. So we bought it. She is in the phase were she likes to sakes stuff. She can easily grab this ball and she gets a kick out of shaking it. She tries to bite it too. I think if I were to buy this a few months back she would have loved it too. She was very good at grabbing stuff by 3m so I am sure she would have loved it then too. So far this is a clear favorite.

I bought this for my son because they have similar ones at his day care that he loves to play with. This one is even better though, because it also rattles! It's so easy for him to hold and play with. A great toy!

The toy is easy to grab and hold onto with both hands, it is light, it rattles, it rolls. It is the best for the baby who is learning to use his/her hands and loves to grab things and shake things. Try it, moms, you will love it!

This is a great toy for babies. My baby loves it and I know many others who do too! It's perfect for little fingers to grab. The rattle just adds another dimension of interest/fun to it. It is great to take anywhere since it's so durable and easy to clean.

  • Title: It is occasionally fun for my daughter

My daughter is 7 months old. She is not normally amused by this ball but it works better in the car seat since she can stick her finger though it and doesn't lose it from her grip. Normally she is not interested in it much .. she prefers banging on the good old fashioned cardboard box over most of her toys."

  • Title: Great Toy!

Our daughter has loved this toy ever since she was 5 months old...whereas some toys are hard to hold, especially right as the baby is starting to try and grasp things, this ball is perfect with all the holes...and our daughter loves the noise it makes and now at 8 months is trying to throw it...my future bball player:) great investment and super-fun toy for babies that like to hold onto things.

  • Title: Awesome toy, even for small babies

My daughter got this toy from her cousin when she was 4 months old. She had a birth injury that made it difficult for her to raise her right arm. This toy, although it is quite big in comparison to most rattles for children that age, was so light and easy for her to use that she immediately was able to lift it with her injured arm. The first day, she would hardly let go of it. In fact, she slept with it all day long! I took it to her therapist to show it off and she liked it because it is easy to grab. Now my daughter throws it and shakes it all the time. It's still one of her favorite toys.

  • Title: thumbs up

When I saw this toy and how well-loved it was, I knew I had to get it. I am glad I did. My two-month-old is fascinated by it, and my two-year-old loves it too. In addition, it has been a huge hit with all of our friends' babies of various ages who come to visit. This ball is amazingly clever. It is easy for tiny, uncoordinated fingers to grasp, and makes pleasing rattling noises. It also seems nice to chew on (though I haven't personally tried it). : ) In addition, it is made of a soft, flexible type of plastic, so it is safer for Baby when Big Brother decides to play too.

  • Title: my twins love this!

They love it so much, I think I should have gotten two. It's easy for their hands to grasp at only 3 months old, and has really helped them work on their dexterity. They love to hold it, look at it and even taste it. Unlike other rattle balls though, it is relatively soft. So when they accidentally wack themselves in the face with it, they don't wail in pain.

  • Title: Perfect first ball/rattle!

The "o's" in this ball make it lightweight and easy for a baby to grab. I purchased this when my daughter was 3 months old, she is now 9 months and still enjoys playing with it. It's easy to dangle from the car seat or play mat bar and she liked to swat it when she was younger, now she loves to pick it up and throw it or just shake it all around.

  • Title: Greaty baby toy!

This rattle is a wonderful idea. The ball itself is fabulous and the added rattles make it all the more fun without hindering the natural flexibility of the ball. My daughter loves shaking it and passing it from hand to hand. Because it is easy to grab and hold, I find it is a great toy to store in the diaper bags for trips in the car and restaurant entertainment - although it is not impervious to the occasional catapult across the room.

  • Title: A must-have

We bought this for our daughter before she was born not realizing it's versatility. She still uses it to this day, and she is now 10 months old. It's easy to grip and just loud enough to get her excited. This toy is invaluable because it can be clipped with hoops, it's not easy to drop, and it's actually a great crib toy. I would highly recommend this toy to new parents!

  • Title: Awesome first toy

My niece had one of these rattles when she was 5 or 6 months old and loved it, so I added it to my registry when I was expecting my son, thinking he'd enjoy it at that age too. Little did I know. On a whim, I handed it to him when he was about 6 weeks old and starting to open his hands more. He was able to grab it right away since the webbing is thin, and he wouldn't let go of it. I started putting it in his lap when he was in his car seat, and he would run his fingers over it and practice opening and closing his hands around the web. I really think that it helped develop those grabbing skills, since he started successfully grabbing bigger toys not long after. I've since bought a second oball to leave in the car and and one to keep at home. I know we still have plenty of use left in both of them

  • Title: Cat and Baby fight for this!

I got this at my baby shower and put it away. I came across it when my son was about 4 months old and gave it to him. He LOVES it! The only problem with it is the cat loves it too, and they frequently "fight" over it! She manages to find it in his toys during the night and bats it around the house all night long lol. Great toy for young babies too because they can grab onto it very easily. He still loves it at 8 months.

  • Title: Cute Toy

For some reason I thought the ball was bigger than what it actually is. Maybe I didn't read the dimensions or something. Anyway its a bit costly for what it actually is. A rattle not intended for babies. There wasn't a 3 and under only warning on it when I bought it as a rattle for my newborn, so that's a bit odd & alarming. Overall, I think its a cute rattle & if you don't walk away from your baby while he or she is playing with it then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Also

  • Title: Great toy, my babies grew to love it!

My 8 m/o twins did not get too excited about this toy. However, I think that it's a nice addition to our toy box and hopefully they will grow to love playing with it. Perhaps the ball will be more fun when they start crawling and can follow it as it rolls away. I like that this toy has no PVC, Latex, Phthalates, or BPA. It confirms to safety standards ASTM F963-03. Made by Rhino Toys, Inc., manufactured in China. Update: it did become one of the toys to fight for - it rattles

  • Title: Love the Oball Rattle

I noticed my son becomes interested in toys that make make noise and is able to shake. I have bought many rattles for his tiny hands and it was impossible to keep a grip on them. I found this Oball here on Amazon and when it arrived it became my sons instant favorite. The only problem is he likes to trow it! So I used one of those pacifier clips to keep it close to him. I clip one side to his onesie and the other velcros to the ball. Easy fix. I can also use the pacifier clip to attach it to his activity center or his stroller. Perfect little toy for his 5 month hands.

  • Title: Average

This toy is easy for my baby's little fingers to grab. But he doesn't seem to be particularly interested in it. After shaking it for several seconds, he just went away for some other things. He was 10-month old when he first got the toy. Not sure whether he was too old for the toy.

  • Title: multi-purpose toy

I don't have much new to add, besides another 5 star review. It has been my son's favorite since he first got it at 4 months and now still at 9 months. It's easy to grab, it's soft (which got us through the period when he would inadvertently hit himself in the face with everything he grabbed), it makes a nice gentle rattling noise, and it bounces (convenient for when he is in an enclosed space and it can bounce back to him). He enjoys tossing the ball to us.

  • Title: Great "first toy"

My 3 month old finally figured out how to use her hands, thanks to this toy. She was suffering from boredom and frustration with other rattles and toys, until we put this in her hands. She has learned how to pick it up, shake it, nom on it, and wave it around. I attach it to a pacifier strap and clip it to her cloths, so she can take it with us when we're out and about and we don't have to worry about losing it. A really fantastic first tactile toy."

  • Title: A great toy for little ones who love to bang!

My 6 month old son loves to bang his toys on everything...including himself. The problem is that with heavier toys and hard plastic toys, he bangs the toy on his head and then he starts to cry! What we love about the Oball is that it is easy to grab (and therefore easy to bang), but when he bangs it on himself, there are no more tears! The rattle is quiet and non-abrasive, so it is even great for the car (for kids like mine that love toys that make noise -- and parents like me who hate them). This will definitely be a go-to toy for us from now on!

This ball is perfect for babies just learning how to crawl, roll or grab for things they want. My 5 month old can easily grab this & for the time being loves to try & chew on it & pass it from hand to hand to get it to rattle. Our neighbor's son is a bit older & has started rolling & everytime he's over he rolls around trying to get it. They are ordering one too. Ours came in green.

  • Title: My new default baby gift

I used to give Manhattan Toy's Winkel as my default toy gift for babies but I think I'll switch to the O-Ball Rattle from now on. Babies can grab it, squish it, chew on it, rattle it, roll it, look at it, hear it and just play with it in sooo many ways from the youngest age. And because it's a ball, it really holds up as a toy through any age. For that matter, I'm 33 and I love looking at the little rainbow balls in the plastic pockets throughout the ball. An absolutely ideal toy for infants.

If you're in the market for the perfect baby shower gift, look no further - this is hands-down the best present we received ...and I'm not not just saying that because my mother gave it to me. :) My son has loved this toy since he was about a month old. At first he enjoyed just being able to hold it and shake it (the design is perfect for little fingers) Important note: Product page states this toy is for 3 years+

  • Title: Rhino Toys Oball Rattle

My daughter enjoys this toy, but appears to want to eat it so when she can't eat it, she doesn't enjoy it too much. Yes, I know it sounds a little funny, but she'll shake it around and throw it on the ground, pick it up and then try to stick it in her mouth. Once she can't do it, she moves on. It's well built, durable and easily cleanable (is that even a word?) and entertains her for a few minutes at a time. I would have given it 5 stars, but it doesn't entertain enough.

  • Title: Fun fine motor development for 3 mo. old

This is our 3 mo. old son's favorite toy. He can easily grasp the ball with one or both hands and seems to enjoy the gentle rattle it produces. Unfortunately it is too big for his mouth, which was frustrating for him at first, but he has learned to explore the oball with his tongue rather than gumming it. It's a great toy that I think he'll enjoy playing with in new ways as he grows. I'd highly recommend it!

  • Title: My 6 month old loves his OBall

My 6 month old got an Oball rattle for Christmas and he loves it. It's so easy for him to hold onto and handle. It's light enough that if he bonks himself in the head with it, it doesn't hurt. We also got a mini version with tether for his stroller. I have the feeling that one of these balls will be going everywhere with us for awhile!

  • Title: Very Good Toy!

The Oball Rattle we purchased for our infant daughter is a very good toy. It's not advertised as dishwasher safe, like the original Oball, but it only takes a few seconds to clean it. Our daughter enjoys playing with it and chewing on it (or gumming it, I should say, as she still doesn't have any teeth), but she definitely prefers the original Oball over the Oball Rattle. She does like the sounds the rattles make, so maybe this will become her favorite.

  • Title: sloppy construction

I really wanted to love this toy because I think my 9 mo old daughter would've loved playing with it. But when we got it, you could tell that it was made by gluing all these little rings and those plastic bubbles with the beads all together. That's fine in and of itself but the glue was everywhere. I didn't feel good about letting her put it in her mouth so we returned it.

I got this for my 5 month old because the reviews were so positive. Good to know they were right on. My son, now 9 months continues to love this toy. • Title: Wonderful Ball for Babies

This rattling ball is a great baby toy because it is easy to grasp and roll. It also has a quiet rattle. It is small, so it doesn't interest my older girls who are 3 and 4, but my 1-year-old is fascinated by it. It is a lot like the Baby Einstein Bendy Ball but lighter and with a quieter rattle.

  • Title: Warning, poor quality of manufacturing

The Oball looks like alot of fun. Very light and can be easily picked up by your little ones. However, I will not be giving this toy to my 4 month old baby. Those pockets of rattles are glued in and they are poorly done. You can see glues slabbed all over. They advertised as PVC free, PHTHALATES free, lead free, even safe to put in steamer. All that is useless if you got dried glue all over. I can't imagine any babies playing with this toy since they always put things in their mouth!! Totally unacceptable as an infant toy. Our daughter LOVES this toy. I got it for her when she was about 2 months old, and it was one of the first toys she was actually able to grip and hold on to. She is now almost 6 months and this is still one of her favorite toys. She holds on to it, waves it in the air, shakes it, and overall it has really helped her hand/eye coordination. She is now teething and loves to gnaw on this toy. It's easy to wash and still looks brand new. I thought it was a bit pricey when I bought it, but now I think it was the best $10 toy I've bought. Maybe I didn't do as much research on it as I should've, but I was looking for a new toy for my (then) 6 month old and this got great reviews. I returned it because: 1- there was glue around all the rattle discs which I felt very uncomfortable giving to my baby to put in her mouth and also didn't want to spend the time to scratch it all off. 2- it was much smaller than I expected. 3- it seems like it would be very difficult for baby to put the toy in mouth, though it is easy to grasp. 4- you don't get choice of color and of course I got blue for my daughter. We have three boys ranging in age from 10 months to five years... they have all had one of these as some point and each one has loved it. These Oballs are easy to grasp by young children and the fact that they make some noise when they are shaken is only a bonus. They also help significantly when teaching 2+ year olds how to catch as their fingers tend to get caught in the holes aiding them in completing the catch. Ok, so it is a rattle, so keep that in mind. My baby doesn't like most rattles much. This one though she can hold onto, squish and chew. It is easy to attach to her exersaucer. You can hang it from the car seat. It will smush into your diaper bag. All baby toys are about as fun as you put effort into playing with them, but this one was particularly easy for my 4 month old to interact with alone. I love it. She loves it. OH, and it is about the size of a softball, so it isn't a choking hazard like the entry says. I will buy one of these for every baby shower I go to from now on. And the price here is too high, Walmart had them for $5.

I was thrilled with this ball! It is light weight and perfect for my 7 month old's little hands. It is much lighter weight than the baby einstein ball and softer as well. After reading other reviews I did check the rattles and did not see excess glue around the seem. Mine is actually snapped in place, you can see the holes and then it is glued in place. I feel they are quite secure, as I squeezed and poked it to test the resistance. I like that the rattle sound is not too loud to be annoying but soft and subtle enough to capture her attention but not too annoying to me. :) I feel this is a great toy

  • Title: Great ball for those just learning to throw

Bought this for baby (13 months) when we went on a trip, based on recommendations from others. While it didn't work for the airplane (baby wanted too much to throw it), it works great at home! She holds it in one hand and throws it, runs after it, and throws it again. Because it has grooves, it rolls a little, but not too far to make it frustrating for her to retrieve. Those holes make it possible for her to actually grasp it with her little hands. It is light, making it easy for her to carry and throw. The rattle isn't annoyingly loud and she likes to look at the little balls and shake it. I noted another reviewer wrote about glue being visible, but I couldn't find any visible glue. The plastic ball holders appear to be solidly constructed and neither my husband nor I were able to pry them open. I really like this ball and only wish I bought it when she was younger...

  • Title: Great toy!

The first thing my husband did when I showed him this toy was check to make sure that the beads in the rattle parts were secure. They were so we bought it and brought it home from the store. Washed it and gave it to our 4 month old daughter. She seems to love it about as much as a baby her age CAN love something. There are lots of holes for her to grasp. She tries to suck on it and ends up sticking her tongue in the holes. The ball is also very soft and squishes when you squeeze it. So many rattles I've seen are hard plastic that seems like it would hurt when the baby smashes it into her face but not this one! I'm glad I found this toy!"

This was the first toy my daughter picked up consistently at 3 months and is still her favorite. It's easy to grasp, to pass from one hand to another (important for development) and she loves the rattling sound it makes. I like that it's easy to keep clean and because it's soft I can jam it in the diaper bag despite it's round shape.

  • Title: Do not buy! Choking hazard!!

We purchased this toy at a local store for our son who was only a few months old. It was cute and he loved it. It was one of the toys I put in his pack and play while I would shower, etc. One day I came out and the plastic case had broken and the little balls were all over his pack and play. He was only a few months old and this toy is rated for 0 months plus. DO NOT PURCHASE!! My son could have easily choked on the balls and I would never have known. He was very little -- I was shocked when I saw this.

  • Title: Best Toy for my 4 month old

We bought this for our little one's Easter basket. This is by far the best toy my 4 month old has out of all her rattles, teethers, balls, etc. Ours arrived in the color green. The oball is collapsible, it's a rattle, it can be chewed on, it's easy to wipe clean (I use pacifier wipes, when on the go), it's so easy for her to grab a hold of unlike other things, and it also has a bit of a bounce to it. This is the one toy she has right now that can keep her entertained and engaged for several minutes, while I am otherwise occupied, or when changing her diaper. One of the things she likes about it is when we bounce it off the palm of our hands or off the back of the chair. So many different possibilities with this cheap toy. I think it will be a favorite of hers for months to come. Great baby gift! I highly recommend this toy!

  • Title: Awesome ball and rattle

My husband bought this toy for our son when he was 4 months old and it is still a favorite. At 4 months he would grab it and just flail his arm around while holding onto it so he could listen to the rattle. Now, at a year old, he always pulls this out of his toy box first and throws it all over the place and chases it. I've never had an issue with the plastic pieces coming apart or the beads falling out.

  • Title: what's with this outrageous price?

My son loves this rattle ball, has since he was 3 months old when I gave it to him to keep him busy on a trip to Target. Well I had to buy the darn thing because who can pry a toy out of a three month old baby's hand without feeling like a big jerk? Now I wanted to buy one for a friend's baby shower and what the heck? $15? Bought this thing for $5! Looks like I'll have to pay the markup up at Toys R Us - can't believe they could possibly be cheaper than Amazon but they sure are on this one!

Love this toy. It is lightweight and very easy to grasp. The rattle helps capture and hold attention. When baby is a bit older I expect this to to remain fun because we'll be able to roll or toss it back and forth. Glad I picked this one up.

This rattle is definitely one of my daughter's favorite toys. She is four months now and has been playing with it since she was about 10 weeks old. I bought this toy because it was recommended by another mom and I'm glad I did. It is easy for my daughter to grab and hold onto, unlike some of her other rattles, so she actually shows interest in it for a good amount of time. It is also a ball, so you can roll it around and bounce it, which is why I think she will continue to enjoy this toy for months to come. I also love that it is easy to clean!

  • Title: Great first toy to grab!

This was the very first toy that my son learned and loved to play with. Because of it's large holes and can't-miss ability to grab with tiny fingers and weak grips, it was perfect for teaching him how to grab things and shake them. We have another ball that's similar without the rattle portion, and though he used to wave that one around as well, he preferred hearing the rattle everytime he would shake the ball. Additionally Great toy and I highly recommend it!"

  • Title: Great toy!

These balls are great for babies since they can actually grab onto them. The rattle makes it fun for them as they shake the ball. The color is great and I bought several for my friends. However, since they are smaller than the regular oball, it's easier for them to roll under the bed, couch etc.

  • Title: My baby's favorite toy.

This is one of my sons favorite toys. My brother got it for my son when he was a month old but we didn't start giving it to my baby until he was about 3 months old. And he loves it! It is the first toy that he transferred from one hand to another. It is a great toy to get babies motor skills going. My son is now 4.5 months old and if this toy is anywhere near him he will reach for it and grab it with both hands and bring it to his mouth to chew. He has even tossed this ball a couple times. It is so great to see him holding it with both hands and learning how to grasp with this toy. This is a great toy to get to help your little one with their development skills. I am even thinking about getting another one in a different color. Right now we have just a red one. He even like to play with this toy during tummy time. It is soft and easy to grasp with a lot of hand holds on it. Plus the little balls in it rattle getting his attention as well."

Bought this for a baby shower gift. Everyone loved it - especially the new Moms that have little ones. The plastic is soft and the shape makes the rattle easy for the baby to grab and hold. I know several people that have these rattles and they all really seem to like it. Please be aware that the ball is on the small side - about 4 inches in diameter. But it is described as a rattle.....

  • Title: It definitely has more potential for younger babies or infants.

I wish I had gotten this myself on amazon.com already before I gave birth. As it is my son was quite gifted with his skills and hit most milestones above average, if not unusually early, having an quite advanced older brother made it even more likely that I would have to find toys that would stimulate him beyond the normal age range. He received this rattle as a gift late Spring/early Summer and it was just a tad too late because he is not fascinated with it and he still loves rattle and BALLS separately toys. I guess to each his own. I can see this toy being hit with many kids because he does play with it but it does not hold his interest long and I feel that for the price ($5-$10) it's not a good value if your kid just is not into it as much as you would hope they would be I would give this toy 5 stars because I feel sure some babies will fall in love with it but I think it's just alright and 4 stars because personally

  • Title: My sons favorite toy

We bought this toy for my 4month old son for Christmas and it is far and away his favorite toy. He is really small for his size and due to having down syndrome he has weak upper body muscles. This ball is very light and the holes make it really easy to grip, even with his tiny hands. He would probably love it just as a ball, but it also has the little sections that have rattling balls that make a great shaking sound every time he moves it. It's two months later, and it is still the first thing he reaches for when offered some toys. Definitely five stars!

My son has a few go-to toys and this is one of them. We received one at our baby shower and it became the first toy my son really loved (at about 2 months). We lost it right before he turned 4 months old and had to replace it immediately. It's still one of the only toys that instantly engages him. He sometimes gets a little overstimulated with it and starts bashing it around excitedly. I have to take it away for a little while so he will calm down. I don't see that as a negative though. This ball is very easy for babies to grasp and This is going on the list of things I will buy any expecting parents from here on out. Worth it's weight and more in gold!"

  • Title: Great toy! (But cheaper locally.)

I almost, almost bought this from Amazon several times, but the price was usually about $10 with shipping, and that seemed like too much to pay for this. I'm just used to buying almost everything from Amazon, though, so it seemed like a real hassle to have to go to a store for this toy. We were at a local store the other day and they had these for about $4. So we bought one. And we got to choose the color I noticed that some reviewers mention sloppy construction with glue left on the toy (making it a bad idea to chew on). Ours does not have any glue that is visible. My daughter loves this! It is currently one of her toys that we keep in the car to entertain her while she is in her car seat. She likes it because if you shake it or hit it against things it rattles. Also Ball was her first word Great toy. I'm glad we bought one. Also Highly recommended."

My wife bought this for our daughter who has been enjoying it for a month (she is now 4-months old). It's one of her only toys she can really grab with her tiny hands and it's light enough that it doesn't hurt when she bonks herself in the head. She loves the rattle from the plastic balls and eagerly reaches for it with both hands when you hold it above her chest. She has even tossed it a couple of times. She has no other toy she can grasp as well. I also think she really likes the unique texture when she tries to put it into her mouth. I think this ball is a slam dunk for 3-4 month olds.
