  • Title: The Panda is Great for Newborns

The panda melody maker I was lucky enough to receive (from my little sister) has big eyes, a nice smile, and black ears (filled in with red). The product is put together well. There are no loose strings, it can sit up on its own, and it's made to last. The panda has three sounds. Two are melodies (lasting around five seconds by my rough estimation); one sounds like a cricket. While not thrilled about the sounds Lamaze PeekaBoo Clutch Cube Baby Animals Black and White: Black and White While I am giving the panda four stars

  • Title: not your average melody maker

I loved this little toy, it is so cute and i love the original melodies. I also love the panda so much, I just got the black/white orca.

  • Title: A Favorite

I received this as a baby shower gift. My son loved it from the day he came home from the hospital. When he fussed during a diaper change we would play the music for him (There are 3 tracks: a tribal African tune, a tree-frog/cricket sound, and an Asian-inspired tune) and he would quiet down and listen to it. He is 6 months old now and still loves it. He can pull the "string" himself now and entertains himself. So sweet! Best shower gift I received. Too bad it's hard to find in stores.

  • Title: Calming lion that can go anywhere

I bought this at target on clearance. I paid about $7 for it. My son liked it the moment I showed it to him. I have it hanging from his car seat. He's been able to pull it since 4 months. He tries to put the blue handle in his mouth, which causes it to activate and play the music. He stops to listen to the music. I can usually pull on the toy to get his attention and calm him down for a little bit. My husband and I know all the little melodies by heart now. It went off one time in a cracker barrel lobby and a lady walked by and heard it and thought that they make car seats that play music. They don't have those yet and this is probably why because you can clip this on and voila, a car seat that plays music. I've had this for two months and it is still in good working condition.

  • Title: Baby loves it!

My son loves to listen and look at this elephant! We keep ours by the changing table and get the biggest smiles out of him when we pull the cord.

  • Title: Makes frog noises

I received this elephant as a baby shower gift. It plays two short songs and frog noises. I think this is a little confusing since it's an elephant. Weird. I can't decide if I want to keep it or not.

  • Title: Gets his attention, but doesn't keep it

This is an adorable little sound maker. We received it as part of a gift. We have it hanging from the handle on our baby's car seat/carrier so that he is occupied while we strap him in. It's also helpful when he's in the car seat/carrier in a restaurant. The sounds are cute, but don't last very long at all. Maybe 10 seconds and then you must tug the string again. It has three sets of sounds, each of which you must pull the string in between. It has two sets of jungle theme music, each about 10 seconds long, and it also has a frog sound (yes, weird) which is only about 3 seconds long. We like this toy a lot, just wish the music played longer. It will probably be more useful for us, and fun for him, when he is actually able to pull the cord for the sounds. ***Update*** Baby is now 6.5 months and still likes this elephant. It's a permanent fixture in our vehicle."

  • Title: wrong item- elephant arrived instead of lion

We ordered a lion and received an elephant. I was so disappointed -the lion looks so cute. Time is involved in sending an item back so we kept the elephant but we are not happy.

  • Title: My son loved this toy!

My baby boy hated to ride in the car seat. However, this toy would usually do the trick to help calm him down. He loved the elephant and the music it made. It was fun watching him learn how to pull the cord to make the music. Once he learned, it was a constant melody in the back seat. This was a toy that I left attached the car seat. I did not want to be without it!

  • Title: Panda Melody Maker

These Baby Einstein Melody Makers are great - my son loves his Panda, so I ordered this for a baby shower gift... only I was looking at the picture, not paying particular attention to the description. Note the description - this listing is for a whale, not a panda! I've called Amazon and they said that they will be updating the picture to match the product, until they do that just be aware of what you're actually getting. The whale seems fine, but it's grey and black. One of the reasons I like the panda is that it's black and white, which is stimulating for babies to look at. In general though, these are well made an will stand up to lots of "love". I gave this 3 stars solely because it's not as pictured. Once they get that fixed, I'll change my rating to 5 stars. ----------- Update: October 16 Looks like they combined all of the Melody Makers into one listing

  • Title: Boring for baby

Fun songs, but my daughter isn't entertained by it. The pull-ring is REALLY hard to pull. baby cant pull it and when I pull it it almost always gets pulled off the rings its linked too bc i have to pull so hard. would NOT reccommend this. (All true even at 9 months and shes a very strong baby).

  • Title: A 2 month old's best friend

My 2 month old granddaughter is completely entranced by this lion's face. This was the toy that inspired her to learn how to reach, catch, and hold on to something she wants. It was only by accident that we discovered it played music. The face is her favorite part. She stares into his eyes for long periods of time and, naturally, tries to eat it off ... so sweet!! The top hooks allows us to add it to her activity gym or hang it from the handle of her car seat, so she can always have her best friend close by!

  • Title: nice sounds but broke after 5 1/2 months

This pull toy was a great distraction for our daughter in the car from 3 - 8 1/2 months, but recently the pull part stopped working (no music). I did a little surgery on the elephant to see if battery was easily replaced (and there are 3 batteries however they don't sell them at Home Depot so I don't know where else to get replacements) and the plastic mechanism is cracked, so even if the batteries were replaced, I don't know if the pull music would work. Great toy but expensive to have to replace in less than 6 months...We'll be getting some other distraction toy for the car.

  • Title: Great for 3 month old

My baby is 3 months and is intrigued by the color contrast. It is good for attaching other toys to. The only thing that would make it better is music or a rattle inside.

I purchased this for a shower gift collection including many elephant products. These toys truly hold babies' attention and encourage stretching, reaching and chatter!

  • Title: Elephant

Didnt read the description close enough when ordering and didnt realize it made music when was pulled. Only had two sounds and the repeats the same animal sounds in between. The part lets it hang doesn't really keep it near the top. All just my fault for not reading more other then that really high quality and super cute

This is a really fun toy and perfect for the car seat. I don't know who is into it more, my little one or the dog :)

  • Title: Simple and Sweet

This is a nice, simple toy for infants. No flashing lights or annoying music. The toy does play a few sounds/tunes, but they are tolerable and don't grate on your nerves. The little lion is very cute. I have this hanging on the outside of the crib for decoration now until the babies are older and able to enjoy playing with it.

  • Title: Love It

My son LOVES this toy. He loves to watch the panda sway when he touches it and he loves the music that it makes. My only worry is that someday it will be discontinued, I wouldn't know what to do if I couldn't find a replacement. It hasn't run out of batteries yet even getting pulled on constantly, but the only downside is that there is NO WAY to replace batteries unless you preform "panda surgery"

  • Title: Great music! One of our favs!

This toy was perfect! I purchased it when my son was a couple months old. The black, white and red always attracted him and the music is perfect! It is so sweet and rhythmic...I never get tired of hearing it either. The music still gets his attention and he is nearly a year old!

  • Title: Wonderful!!! A must have!

Our daughter loves this toy. Before she could pull the handle herself - the colors and music soothed her. Now, whenever she sees panda she immediately smiles and pulls the handle to hear the music. It is absolutely wonderful. Panda #1 withstood 7 months of daily use, unfortunately, when the battery dies there is no way of replacing it. So, Panda #2 was purchased. The smile when we brought back Panda after a short hiatus (they are not always that easy to find in stores = buy 2) was priceless. Definitely a must have.

  • Title: LOVE THIS TOY

THIS IS A GREAT TOY. THIS IS MY 4 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER'S FAVORITE TOY. SHE IS ABLE TO GRASP THE HANDLE & CHEW ON IT AS WELL. IT HAS 2 SONGS AND MAKES CRICKET SOUNDS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TOY. I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT IT.

  • Title: Cute Elephant Toy

This is a sweet, cute toy for infants. It isn't obnoxious or annoying as many baby toys can be. It has a few sounds/tunes that are soothing and not too loud.

  • Title: Favorite car toy

This is the best car ride distraction! I got this as a gift at my baby shower. My baby boy always loved this toy and at 4 1/2 months is able to pull on the ring himself now. There are only 2 songs and crickets sound but it entertains him and thats all that matters! Really a must for a cranky baby during car rides.
